Guest guest
You should have just added some sweetener, cinnamon, and nutmeg to the pumpkin!!! And try using October beans in corn for your succotash!!! delicious!! Hubby wants me to take a pregnancy test it's so bad. I'm not pregnant, I'm just really hungry all the time and I've been craving weird things. The past two days it's been pumpkin pie filling. Right out of the can, maybe microwaved. So I went to the store today and got some, only when I got home it was just plain pumpkin, not the pie filling. Tastes terrible. So I gave my rats a bowl full, which they enjoyed. I gave some to the mice and as usual they turned their snotty little noses up at it. The dogs liked it a lot. I mixed it in with their food and they acted like I'd filled their bowls with candy. Tonight's craving: succotash. Weird, huh? I gave the rats and mice their share (they always get a little of what I'm eating- wouldn't want the darlings to feel left out, now would we?) and devoured the rest. Good stuff. I'm in a typing mood so I felt like sharing my bizarre eating habits with all of you. And for the record- yes, I'm *sure* I'm not pregnant. Kadee Sedtal Stay in the know. Pulse on the new .com. Guest guest
I tried adding sugar and cinnamon (didn't have anything else), but I was just basically mad that it wasn't already done! What are October beans? I've never heard of them. Kadee Sedtal Get your email and more, right on the new .com
Guest guest
They may also call them Cranberry beans. They are darker, but are sort of the shape of pinto beans. This way the energy from the succotash stays with you. I put butter and sugar on my succotash. Guest guest
Kadee, dont worry about rambling, and trust me, I have weird cravings at really odd times. I am not pregnant, nor have I ever been, nor will I ever be, but when I am really badly pmsing, or my period is at its worst, I crave dairy products really badly (especially cream cheese and sour cream) when I am having these cravings, I live off of chips and dips, *crab* rangoon (I just make it homemade and leave out the crab) and cream cheese stuffed jalepenos!! I believe that is why I could never go vegan, I just cant be without those! Lol. But alas, if my hormone levels dont decrease may have to eliminate all hormone laden food, oh I just want to cry. Most people think cravings are a preggo thing, but most people have them, they're just heightened in pregnant women. When I crave certain foods, I know it's b/c I *need* whatever that food is highest in, for me it's mostly iron - I go through periods where I sit there eating straight out of a jar of peanut butter, lol. They're not weird - probably just your body telling you something Or when I am sad/depressed/missing someone/something, then I crave foods that remind me of them or foods that make me happy. You know, comfort foods. Granted, I've never eaten succotash, but people look at me like a weirdo when I sit there w/ that jar of peanut butter, lol. --Stacee
Guest guest
Well I must need corn! Today I had this awful craving for more succotash, but when I opened the cabinet I saw something even better- mexicorn! I ate every last bit and felt so much better. I've also got a whole can each of corn and lima beans, which I might eat tonight. It's really bizarre. And about the peanut butter- my 2 1/2 year-old daughter will eat as much as we'll give her. One time lazy hubby decided to let her make her own peanut butter sandwich (dumb, I know) and she sat there in her chair dipping the knife into the jar, licking it all off, then doing it over and over and over. I eventually decided that if she didn't stop she'd turn into a peanut and told Jeff to at least supervise- not a speck of peanut butter ended up on the bread. Of course it was funny. And when I went into the hospital in labor, pregnant with my daughter, I started craving peanut butter and crackers. In the labor room! Right after she was born I was kind of like, " Yeah, cute baby and all... where's my peanut butter and crackers?!? " With the crappy food they brought me every day I ate very little else. Good stuff, peanut butter is... but not as good as mexicorn. Kadee Sedtal Messenger with Voice. Make PC-to-Phone Calls to the US (and 30+ countries) for 2¢/min or less.
