Guest guest
Hi all, Please don't get me wrong but I like cats. I simply like animals and I feed the foxes in my allotment daily. As well as foxes, I encourage hedgehogs and other wildlife including birds into my space. I have neighbours cats using my front garden as their toilet. Last month I scooped up all the compost from the flower beds and it stung like £$%^ & I replaced the compost with Sharp sand and Gravel (mixed them together). For a week, the cats stop coming )) But today, I see 8 spots of their mess in different location in my front garden I just don't know what I can do I am trying my darn hardest to try and live in harmony with animals. But when they destroy my beloved plants which I spent so much time cultivating... It just makes me so mad. Does anyone has a kind suggestion for me to try next without resorting to electronics means? I don't like anyone buzzing round my ears and hence I think the cats feel the same way. So electronic means is out of my next plot. I tried leaving the cats a note but unfortunately, they don't understand my note My daughter left a mirror out but they still persists, arggghhh! Kind Regards, Wee On Behalf Of aust4freng Monday, August 21, 2006 2:55 AM talking about cats Right now I have the best cat I've ever had in my whole life,he is an orange maine coon. I've never had a cat so vocal...he 'sings' in the morning...when he hits a higher note he'll stop in suspense....he's so much like 'people'... I take he and my siamese tabby to a holistic vet; I'm so thankful for her. She has them eating Nature's Variety frozen food patties...their coat and eyes look so beautiful. I saw cats on the pet channel once that were being fed only vegetables. Their eyes had turned white and they lost their site. Cats need their adequate protein or it does affect their eyes, among other things. My cats love my cooking so in the eve for a treat they love a bean or squash, they even like muffins I make. I thank God all the time for cats. Isn't He amazing how He created so many cats in the wild, the jungles in Asia, South America, they all either run faster, jump higher or whatever. And how wonder God was to give us kitties to have in our home. He didn't do for any other animal.
Guest guest
Hi Wee, Nice to see your cheerful notes again; I hope you have been well. If the garlic and vinegar don't work (they should - both good ideas & effective), I have read recommendations about putting chicken wire (lightweight wire fencing with a large grid) flat on the ground around where they like to do their toilet. I guess cats don't like to step on such things? I had to compromise with my kitty Rose -- if she would stop going in my tomatoes, I would let her go in the wildflower bed.
