Guest guest
Great idea introducing the other Junior High kids to Veggie food..This age group is very conscious of eating in front of each other. Their peers are very important to them..I have noticed that these young people like bite size finger food. Small pieces that doesn't make one look 'piggy' by having a mouthful. Of course they love anything they can dip but that can be unsanitary if the dipping veggie or cracker is not bite size. They also love bite size crackers with a bit of cream cheese with a piece of fruit or veggie on top. Granola bars cut into small pieces are also a good idea. Next you can have a 'cook over' for your daughter's friend's and let them prepare a Vegetarian meal. They will love it. Guest guest
I made a batch of pigs in a blanket (tofu dogs wrapped in biscuit dough and baked) for a classroom of kids beofre and they loved it. Chelsea
Guest guest
When you have the cook over you might want to try food items that kids love whether or not they are Vegetarian. Like Pizza..Individual pizzas are perfect because the veggie toppings can be prepared ahead of time and the kids can 'decorate' their own pizzas with the toppings that they like. Wraps are also fun and kids love them. Most people think that Vegetarians eat only salads so if we can show the young people that we often have a more varied menu than many non vegetarians it will win them over. Please let us know how the kids react to the great tastes . Smiles and hugs Deanna , Lori Owens <lovemyheavenly3 wrote: > > I never thought about the bite size thing that is so smart. I will keep that in mind. A cook over is also just brilliant!
Guest guest
why don't you make those round tortilla rolls you know where you put lettuce, cheese, the fake lunch meat and roll the tortilla up and cut it in circles. Paul
