Guest guest
Thank you thank you thank you!! :-) All those Medieterranean countries - not to mention Scandinavians - not to mention north americans - couldn't have been wrong all this time. I'm all for all beans - including the coffee bean. Heck, especially the coffee bean. Love, Pat :-) VegetarianSpice/ " Don't be afraid - just start the tape. " Anne Rice, _Interview with the Vampire_. Guest guest
Hi Pat. Isn't it interesting how these pro-coffee studies say some of the opposite of what other health studies report? Some days i think i should quit drinking coffee and then just in the nick of time i read an article like this. All things in moderation seems to be the key. i probably drink too much coffee! ::::coffee mug salute:::: ~ pt ~ Seven long year I served for thee, The glassy hill I climbed for thee, The bloody shirt I wrang for thee, Will you not waken and turn to me? ~ The Black Bull of Norroway, Scottish Folk Story ~~~*~~~*~~~> , veggiehound <veggiehound wrote: > Thank you thank you thank you!! :-) All those > Medieterranean countries - not to mention > Scandinavians - not to mention north americans - > couldn't have been wrong all this time. Guest guest
Those studies! They come out with a study going in this direction one week and another in the opposite direction the next. Some coffees smell so dang good. Wish I liked the flavor more. On 3/10/06, ~ PT ~ <> wrote: > > Hi Pat. Guest guest
Well, there certainly are a lot of pro-coffee studies, and on balance it may be healthy. However, I think this particular study is more a testament to the poor standard American diet (SAD) that coffee is our (as a country) greatest source of antioxidants! -Erin , " ~ PT ~ " <patchouli_troll wrote: > > Hi Pat. There's that, and there's also the horribly unfair wages coffee farmers get, and land devastation.
Guest guest
While I was still drinking coffee I was buying Fair Trade, Shade Grown, Organic coffee. It was the only way I could figure out how to support the coffee farmers and the environment. I was only paying $7.99 a pound for it which was really comparable to any other coffee available and getting Italian Roast. Can't beat that in my book! And it was great coffee...puts Starbucks to shame both in the taste of their coffee and their buying habits which should put them to shame. Sorry to admit that they started in Seattle, WA and they do know better, but greed is rampant. linda " Amy " <sandpiperhiker > > > Good point. Yep, they should. They give lip service but that's about it I think.
