Thank you so much, Shawn!

 

I appreciate the open invitation to ask questions and talk about

anything! I feel very welcomed, and although I said I might be lurking

for awhile in my intro, you've made me feel that it is OK to jump right

in!!! And I think it's really neat to hear from so many Texas veggies!

 

Thanks again! So I'm going to ask about nutritional yeast. When we

lived in Hawaii over 20 years ago, we used to be members of a co-op and

had the benefit of supplies bought in bulk. We would get nutritional

yeast that was out of this world in flavor, and one of my favorites was

sprinkling it on popcorn, and also adding it to other dishes to give them

a cheese flavor. We pretty much survived then on veggies and fruits we

grew, wild fruits (many available!), neighborhood goats milk, and

neighborhood chickens for their eggs, plus the grains & etc. from the

co-op. Oh! those were the good old days! Don't know how I'd adapt now

with no electricity and no running water--just what we caught from

rainfall and gravity-fed....6 years for me spent this way!

 

BUT! back to my question...LOL!! I have not ever been able to find

nutritional yeast like what we got back then...kind of stopped looking

years ago after returning to Texas. So there might be many good options

now--just don't know. Can anyone recommend a nutritional yeast that is

mellow and not bitter? Like that melts in your mouth?
