Guest guest
It is always nice to read reviews from recipes that others have tried out of the files. You will love that Portuguese soup, too. i found the recipe on Rachel Ray's site once and she even suggested it could be made vegetarian, but she said to leave out the chourizo. We don't have to do that now that there is a vegetarian soyrizo product on the market. Have you ever tried that stuff? i think it rocks. i am not sure how it compares to the meat-thing since i never had chourizo before, but i sure like the flavor of the soy kind. ~ pt ~ Ego is the absence of true knowledge of who we really are. ~ Sogyal Rinpoche ~~~*~~~*~~~> , " Shelly " <anislandgirl@c...> wrote: > > I made San Cristobal Vegetable Soup tonight from the group files and > it was AMAZING, AMAZING, AMAZING!!! Guest guest
pt, I am excited to try the Portuguese soup! After making hubby's Samoan food, I was inspired to try some from my own heritage. I have had soyrizo several times (usually with tofu scramblers and chilaquiles but I also tried Melody's idea and made tamales with it. Yum!) I like it alot. The cool thing about it is that it is made with the exact same seasonings as real chorizo so there's no taste difference, just a difference in " feel " and, best of all no gross out factor. I've had real chorizo and it's inedible after you read the ingredients, even when I was an omnivore. Blech!!
