Guest guest
1. Two dedicated vegetarians and one ultra picky young lady (french fries and canned corn are her favorite veggie fare) 2. Breakfast is usually cereals or bagels. I bring fruit with me to work. I make a big green salad on Monday morning and that's my lunch for the week. I cook dinners, often times from scratch. 3.When I make dinner, it is usually a main course, a salad and cooked veggie 4. Average grocery bill is usually $80 (northwest PA). We buy lots of organics (fresh produce and cheeses). 5. I spend less than an hour during the day planning that evening's meal. Cyndy

We cook dinner, I have oatmeal for breakfast but make it at work, I take my lunch everyday, usually leftovers. Do you sit down together? Yes How many courses in a typical meal that you prepare? Usually just one, but I try to have two. On average, what is a typical weekly grocery bill for your family (should probably state where) and what the largest expense group is. Our monthly bill divided comes out to about $90 a week including cleaning products, paper towels/toilet paper, cat food, and toiletries which is where most of the money is spent. I am in Georgia. This will seem high for two people to some of you but food is my number one priority and we eat the good stuff. Personally, I am a food snob and could never shop at Kroger or Publix anymore but that is just me. How much time do you estimate that you spend daily thinking about planning a meal, going through recipes and preparing the food? Thinking: 20 minutes Prep/Cook time: 45 minutes Whitney

I buy bulk, shop and get food on sale and integrate into the weekly menu. I spend $30 to $60 a week in L.A. I make all the veggie burgers from canned beans I get for 2 or 3 for a dollar. Most of the expense is on vegetables. If I splurge it's on Tahitian vanilla, macadamia nuts for cookies, hemp seeds, Celtic Sea Salt or Goji berries but that isn't too often. > > How much time do you estimate that you spend daily > thinking about planning a meal, going through > recipes > and preparing the food? > Thinking: zero, I decided when I get hungry and hit the kitchen. Preparing 1/2 hr. usually unless I make a detailed recipe and I save those for Sat & Sun Donna
