Guest guest
Oh Meg, you SO hit the nail on the head here!!!!!!! We never go out to eat because all I get is, " There's nothing for you to eat when we go out so what's the point!! " TBH, we seldom went out before I became a vegetarian because I'm such a " good cook " . Yeah right! Oh gee, this is such a sore point with me! We always end up having my husband's family here for ALL holidays and events because they say that they don't know what to feed me, so I have to cook for everyone and don't think that they don't expect non-vegetarian food from me. To keep peace, I make it :0( . To answer this weeks question for myself, my new years resolution has been to take the next step into veganism and eliminate dairy. Right now it seems that EVERYTHING contains some sort of dairy. My concerns right now are with breads. When I go anywhere, I never know what breads have milk derivatives in them. Also, I find it difficult when people say, " let's order in Chinese. " I was told recently that most Chinese is made with chicken broth. I really don't have a problem fending for myself if people want to order in Chinese. TBH, it's nice to only have to worry about what I can eat and not worry about fixing everyone elses food too. Sorry if I sounded really negative. Stef , Meg <itszen4me@g...> wrote: > > The fact that my husband pouts about taking me out to eat because there > is never anything for me to eat. Guest guest
HI Stef, When my husband wants Chinese I get steamed veggies with Tofu and a side of brown rice. I tell them no sauce or the sauce on the side, then I don't use the sauce I just use soy sauce.
