Guest guest
That was interesting, Erin. The recipe sounds quite sweet. I prefer the unsweetened Tiger White as the chufas themselves are quite sweet and it is just flavoured with cinnamon. Way back in the late 60s/early 70s when I was a young hippie you could buy bags of tiger nuts (chufas) in wholefood shops, but I haven't seen them for many years. They are little brown knobbly tubers with a sweet white flesh. Perhaps more of them are being processed these days. I don't think Tiger White is available in the US. It is a fairly new product over here. I am hoping to find some horchata when I am in Spain, although I think it is mostly a summertime drink there. (We are having very autumnal weather here today, driving rain, and howling gales - summer has vanished.)
