Newspaper Article:12 Popular Fruits and Veggies

Lowest in Pesticides(non organic

 

 

Newpaper article today lists the 12 most popular fruits lowest in

pesticids and 12 that are highest . This study was done by The

Environmental Working Group " Report card on Pesticides in Produce. "

Note: Listed are conventional non organic produce

 

Lowest in Pesticides

 

Asparagus

Avacados

Bananas

Broccoli

Cauliflower

Corn(sweet)

Kiwi

Mangos

Onions

Papaya

Pineaples

Peas(sweet)

 

Highest in Pesticides

 

Apples

Bell Peppers

Celery

Cherries

Grapes(imported)

Nectarines

Peaches

Pears

Potatoes

Red Raspberries

Spinach

Strawberries

 

Note: Thouough washing of conventional produce also may help remomve

some pesticide residue.

 

I for one will not buy conventional produce on this " highest in

pesticide list " . My favorite potatoes will now be organic.

I intend to give this list to my local produce manager at my local

non-health food market. They are doing a good job of supplying

organic produce but they can do better.
