Make tabbouli or give it to Donna. She loves it.

It makes a really nice foot soak if you make a strong tea of it. Also

an invigorating facial splash - use green tea steeped with some of the

spearmint. A tsp or so in a mesh bag or tea ball with some orange

peel is nice in the bath.

You could also just make tea with it. Lemon & mint go well together

-- maybe a salad dressing?

Peace,

Diane

Here are a couple of ideas I found on the internet. Just type in Dried

Spearmint on your search bar and google it. You'll find lots of ideas.

http://members.aol.com/Trishanne2/herbs.html this website has two herbal teas

that use Dried Spearmint.

It makes the best carpet fresh scent imaginable. I just scatter a little over

the carpets. When my vacuum hits the leaves, it releashes a fresh minty aroma.

(Don't invite Donna over if you do this ; > ))

Enjoy,

Judy

Hey gang,

I have been given a HUGE amount of dried spearmint. Does anyone have

suggestions on how one might use this?

Thanks,

Sharon

P.S. I've been thinking about GB today, as I'm quaffing turmeric

dissolved in warm water. :-)

Hi Judy,

I did google " dried spearmint " and found lots of recipes for teas, bath

teas and a couple lavender cookies, but I was hoping to find more food

recipes. I have a LOT of this stuff! I wonder about infusing it in

cream/milk and then using it in some dessert. Maybe it's just too

delicate to hold up in foods.

Thanks,

Sharon

Oh ok. It is always interesting to find out how folks use different things

isn't it. I enjoy hearing all about it too. So how did you come about having

so much spearmint? I love that flavor.

I wonder if you could add it to lotion and liquid soaps. We have some tingly

invigorating food lotion that has a spearmint fragrance. I love that stuff,

but we only use it when doing food massages for each other.

I was given four large bags from San Francisco Herb Company. I'd have

to drink a LOT of tea! LOL

Thanks again,

Ooooo I'd think minty whipped cream would be great on fresh fruit. I

forgot to mention earlier that this summer I enjoyed making a minty

simple syrup for my iced tea and lemonade, very refreshing. You could

make minty ice cubes and keep them for drinks like juleps or

something. Add to hot choc for a non-alcho Peppermint Patty?

Peace,

Diane

There seem to be a number of recipes

for fresh mint/spearmint but, as you

note, not many for dried mint.

I did find this though:

1 tbsp, 1/4 cup chopped fresh mint

In other words 1 tbsp dried for 1/4 cup

chopped fresh mint. So you might look

around for the fresh mint recipes and

try this substitution.
