Guest guest
hi kyrene, welcome. thanks for the introduction. it's nice to see you here as well as in the . i'm glad your body is responding postively to a vegetarian diet. do you take probiotics and/or digestive enzymes? those supplements might be very helpful for you digestive disorders. i try to limit my dairy intake. the hardest thing to give up is the cheese. i have found great alternatives for milk, sour cream and cream cheese (i've been using the tofutti brand for sc and cc and they are excellent). vegan gourmet by follow your heart makes a really good cheese substitute...it melts too. i can't find it where i live, but they are widening their distribution so i'm hoping it will get here soon. there's also a recipe in our files for a vegan melty cheez that i just love. if you are interested i can repost it or direct you to it in the files. glad to have you here, susie --- " Kyrene Ariadne (Andrea) " <kyrene wrote: > Hi, I'm Andrea. Indeedy. That's how I found this group to begin with so I figured that I'd check it out. > i'm glad your body is responding postively to a > vegetarian diet. do you take probiotics and/or > digestive enzymes? those supplements might be very > helpful for you digestive disorders. I have attempted taking acidophylus, and it does help but it doesn't completely eliminate all of the issues my body has digesting meat and dairy. I'm currently on Zelnorm and I loves it oh so much. > i try to limit my dairy intake. the hardest thing to > give up is the cheese. i have found great > alternatives for milk, sour cream and cream cheese > (i've been using the tofutti brand for sc and cc and > they are excellent). I found tofutti cream cheese, and I look forward to having it on my bagel. I also have Earth Balance " butter " , which helps too. > vegan gourmet by follow your > heart makes a really good cheese substitute...it melts > too. i can't find it where i live, but they are > widening their distribution so i'm hoping it will get > here soon. I also can't find it. Only brand I've found is vegan cheese, which comes in american slices and two blocks of I think cheddar and mozzarella. I bought it all after discovering that soy cheese has dairy in it. Um...not a help. > there's also a recipe in our files for a > vegan melty cheez that i just love. if you are > interested i can repost it or direct you to it in the > files. I must investigate it and give it a shot. Thanks!
