Hi,

wanted to " weigh in " on organic in Tn. We are about an hour from Nashville and I

am

basically getting most organic stuff from Kroger here also. I am not completely

sure on

prices off the top of my head except that org. strawberries are more than that

here! When

I buy them...around $5.00. have been buying the organic grapes for something

different

and they are 5.99 a pound.. We have a local farmers' market that isn't

necessarily organic

and a very nice organic farmers' market 45 minutes away (in Franklin-since you

are

familiar w/the area)

Yes organic is a little more around here and not as prevelant as it may be in

other parts of

the country, but it seems to be improving. And we lived in small town AR for a

while and

organic was much harder to get there: )

in the

middle of nowhere. lol We make a trek 3-4 times a year to Nashville to buy some

items at

Wild Oats that we can't get around here, like organic nuts and other bulk items.

( My

husband did his residency in Nashville and I had a good job at Vanderbilt, and

we lived in

Bellevue. We lived in both Atlanta and Nashville and city life just wasn't for

us.)

of getting

several varieties of organic and natural items. They don't have the whole

" Nature's Market "

that some Krogers do, but they are getting there. They also recently started

rewarding (3

cents per bag) for bringing your own shopping bags, although I've been doing

that for a

while now.

Wal-Mart does carry a bit of organic produce but I don't shop there often so I'm

not sure

of the prices.
