My favorite spice/herb blend is Basil and Sage. I use this combination

in every recipe combined with onion and garlic powder.

I was raised on " country-farm food " and not introduced to " ethnic " food

until I became an adult. Our state is influenced by Hispanic and

Italian cultures/food which I have learned to love.

I am 5 th. generation European-American decent and our family used

nothing but salt and pepper to season their food so I love trying new

herbs and spices.

Since joining this group I have learned to use and love the taste of

Smokey Paprika.

I love coriander and Curry in Indian dishes. Curry Powder is a blend of spices

and all are not the same. I found some that I really enjoy, from an Asian

Market. It is Madras Curry Powder by Sing Kung Corp. in Arcadia, CA

I love ground fennel, cinnamon, oregano and fresh basil added to Campbell's

Tomato Soup.

We use McKay's " Chicken " Seasoning and Bill's Best " Chicken " Seasoning often.

Tone's Taco Seasoning Blend(get it in a tall spice bottle at Sam's Club) is used

often here. We mix it with Worthington Vegetarian Burger for Taco's, in Chili,

we even add a little to the Vegetarian Burger that we brown before adding to

Spaghetti Sauce to go on noodles.

I love onion and garlic in most everything savory.

Ms. Dash and Lawry's seasoned Salt is good in homemade dips and to make(Ms.

Dash) Vegetable broths. Tony Chachere's Creole Seasoning adds an unexpected kick

on Homemade French fries and corn on the cob...

Love fresh basil, rosemary and oregano on many things.

Judy,

I made a note of the Madras Curry Powder. I want to try curry again and

see if my taste buds have changed.

This has been a great year for my Basil. I have picked large bunches 3

times now, used some fresh and dried most of it. I don't know what I

would do without Basil, sage, oinions and garlic powders.

Anything spicy as all my cooking is.

Cumin, cayenne, chile powder, chipotle powder and the chipotle peppers

in adobo sauce, achiote, habanero, jalapeno, serrano, and I use quite a

bit of the smoked paprika in with the beans and soups and they cook.

I love curry but don't cook much with the spices at home.
