Guest guest
Oh, I meant to ask if you all saw the organic milk article on MSNBC's website. My husband was ribbing me about it because essentially they said nutritionally it doesn't matter. I told hime I saw it but then asked him if he took the poll at the end. Most people (at the time I took the poll) didn't care what the report said and would continue supporting organic farmers. Thought it was interesting. Guest guest
Well, here is my take. Mind you the only people in my family who drink milk are 2 of the 4 kids, the rest of us abstain because we don't like it, we have a sensitivity or allergy or think it's yucky in general. my take...there is a lot I can't control about what my family is exposed to. I can control what goes into their body food-wise and I will as long as I can. I believe that the small things add up over the span of a year and a lifetime. I'm a cancer survivor and my toddler son has a genetic liver condition, eating and drinking organically isn't just an option for us, it's a requirement. My son's liver cannot process the toxins that ours can, he lacks the gene that makes the enzyme that coats our lungs and livers to help protect them and process the bad stuff. That little bit of pesticide or antibiotic may not harm you but it can cause my son to develop cirrhosis when he's a teenager. As for me, eating organic isn't going to stop the cancer from coming back if that's what's meant to happen, but darnit it is one thing I CAN do to help myself. It's one area in which I can regain a little bit of the control I realize I no longer have. So, even if the nutrition is the same the organic is STILL the better choice for us. I won't even mention the health of the world we're in and how that affects everyone who lives on the planet. Guest guest
I agree and I don't intend to change. You can only control so much and what you choose to put in your body is one of those things. The less potentially toxic stuff we expose ourselves to, the better.
