Guest guest
If I'm ever invited to the White House, I want to make sure my tax dollars are going to get me a unique vegetarian meal. Sure as heck aint gonna make do with what is at the table. Guest guest
i guess that is the main difference with being a guest at the White House [a publicly owned institution supported by our tax money] and being a guest in a privately owned home. But the subject does raise an interesting question, and i think it would be a good one for this week's group question, too. If i were invited to the White House for dinner, i would call ahead and ask if there would be a vegetarian option, but if there wasn't one, i would go anyway and just make do... i think the experience of going would be worthy of one night's empty stomach. ~ pt ~ O where will I get a gude sailor, To take my helm in hand, Till I get up to the tall top-mast, To see if I can spy land? ~ 'The Ballad of Sir Patrick Spens', Scots folk song ~~~*~~~*~~~~> , subprong <subprong@g...> wrote: > > If I'm ever invited to the White House, I want to make sure my tax > dollars are going to get me a unique vegetarian meal. Guest guest
I think what I would do is when I RSVP I would mention that I am a vegetarian and hope for the best. If all they had was a salad and veggies then I would make do. However, when I go to a persons house for dinner I always offer to bring something and I bring enough for everyone to have if they want.
