Guest guest
Hello, I am new to the group and just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Dianna, am a stay home mom to DS 21, 16, and DD 9. We moved from West TX to central CA in 2000. I am an obsessive quilter, and enjoy machine embroidery, crochet, and general sewing. I also write unpublished romance novels. Hey it all works together to keep me from doing too much house work. LOL Currently, I am taking a little time off to take care of things with the family, and enjoy an upcoming visit from DD 24 and Grandson 3. I support our troops by making cool ties, helmet liners, and slippers along with care packages to the unit I have adopted and by making baby quilts that are then given to new moms in the hospital whose hubby's are deployed. I also make throw size and lap size quilts which are donated to a pediatric cancer unit, children's cancer camp, Pine Ridge Reservation, and where ever else I can find to send one, my family fears gifts contatin them anymore. I am involved with our church's quilt ministry as well. Did I mention I am an obsessed quilter? LOL I do all the piecing and quilting by hand. My new project is doll clothes. I am just an ordinary housewife and mother, we live simply, and are involved with our church. From Aug. 1 on for several months, the males in the house live, eat, and breathe football. Hubby coaches with son's high school junior varsity team, officiates college games, and is involved with a local arena football team. Son, 16, was moved up to the varsity team last year, so he will be playing with them this year. We manage to camp out a little bit in the off season and are involved with dirt bikes and enduro racing. I always take along a little something to work on when we do. All of our family, including oldest daughter and her husband with the grandbaby, live in west TX. I guess that is about all there is to me. Looking forward to getting to know the group. As you see, I have a lot of diversions that I indulge myself in, so making ahead helps with the time and of course planning the meals cuts down on the cost of groceries which helps with the cost of fabric, batting, thread, notebooks, golly diversions aren't cheap.
