Guest guest
I also have a measuring spoon (and cup) thing going on, too. lol. and a stainless steel thing, so when I find measuring spoons, or cups, made of stainless, I go nuts! rofl! For me, the herb/spice is corriander. I have whole seeds in a grinder, and use it much more than the pepper grinder or the salt, on just about anything. I am wondering, I know nothing of cardamom! What do you use it on? Guest guest
LOL I love my Stainless Steel Salad scissor tongs. My plastic ones used to break all the time. These are great!!! BTW I found the McCormick Smoked Paprika yesterday at the grocery store and plan on using it soon.. Can't wait, Cardamom is a good substitute for Cinnamon. There are some studies that suggest that Cinnamon irrates the nerves endings, so Cardamom is a good safe alternative with a similiar flavor. Guest guest
Oh, honey!! I have stainles posts too, and a tea kettle, and a couple thermos containers, and a coffee cup, and...... You get the picture!! lol. The other material I have a thing for is bamboo. I have all sorts of bamboo utensils (they hold up much better than other wood, that most wooden utensils are made of). Recently I ate at a friends house for a pot luck, and he had bamboo plates!! Lighter than paper, but sturdy, and reusable. Now I need to find those!!!! rofl. Guest guest
I know someone whose acid reflux is triggered by cinnamon so she uses cardamom as a substitute all the time. Debbie
Guest guest
I'd like to know about the plates too. Bamboo is a very earth friendly material. Grass that can be used like wood. Cool. Debbie
Guest guest
You all know that stainless steel does not retain smells, like onion or garlic, nor does it retain any kind of food stuffs on it. That is why the dentist uses stainless steel utensils also they are easy to sterilize. Luanne
Guest guest
I bought my stainless steel surgical quality pots and pans over 25 years ago and they still look brand new and cook so well. I just love them, but don't give me a stove top or refrigerator that is stainless steel. lol I just hate dealing with all the finger prints and other marks that accumlate on those. Judy Oh, honey!! Guest guest
Yes cinnamon is on the list of things to avoid with acid reflux all right.... It is too bad. Some other yummy things trigger it too, like cucummber for some, OJ/grapefuit juice and Chocolate............ of course it is subject to the individual and how their body reacts to any of these things... Thankfully not everyone has the same reaction to certain things. Guest guest
I was having a couple glasses of red wine and dark chocolate every night. And wondering why I had chest pains that were cured with Pepsid! Of course, Google is my friend and I found out quick enough. sue ---- wwjd 09/09/06 11:16:07 Re: Re: Spoons, cups, and cardamom; was: Re: turbinado sugar Yes cinnamon is on the list of things to avoid with acid reflux all right... Guest guest
Some pleasures are worth a little planning. I have reflux too and have to take a pill every day for it, and if I want something that gives me heartburn, I just take an extra pill when I eat it. No way am I giving up wine, chocolate, coffee, fried onion rings, etc. I will not have " She Was Well Behaved " on my tombstone she wrote, as she had a second cup of coffee and a Stella D'oro Chocolate Breakfast Treat!!
