Guest guest
This is a French dressing that i tried and loved out of a Savor the Flavor of Oregon cookbook. It is wonderful over salad greens or used as a veggie dip, but i also enjoy brushing on veggie burgers while they are cooking like a BBQ sauce. Mmmm Sweet & Spicy French Dressing 1/2 cup sugar 1 Tbs. flour 1/2 cup cider vinegar 1 tsp. sea salt 1 tsp. vegetarian Worcestershire sauce 1/2 cup finely chopped onion 2 cloves garlic, chopped 1 cup vegetable oil 1/3 cup catsup 1 tsp. hot sauce 1 tsp. celery seed In a saucepan, combine sugar, flour, and vinegar; cook over medium heat until mixture bubbles and thickens, stirring constantly. Pour into a blender and add salt, Worcestershire, onion and garlic. Whirl until smooth. With blender still running, add the oil in a steady stream. Then blend in catsup, hot sauce and celery seed. Cover and chill. Yield: 2 cups dressing ~ pt ~ Never does nature say one thing and wisdom another.Ê ~Juvenal, Satires
