In laywoman's terms: Cement is the powdery portion that when mixed with water, forms a paste that eventually dries very hard; there are several kinds of cement. Well, I figured since he hadn't answered yet... :-) In my family all the girls & mom & dad did the carpentry/plumbing/wiring etc. work, as most of the family was handicapped in some way. Mom's three natural children (all girls), and my sister and I were the so-called normal ones (ha!). The boys did hevay lifting, etc., but we got to use the power tools... *grin* I still like power tools. As for the bread - bad yeast? Or not enough kneading, perhaps, or too much flour...
