Guest guest
I only get annoyed with the labels and definitions when it affects my ability to order food and not get sick. I went into a Thai food place recently and under their vegetarian menu I ordered a veggie curry. I figured this was safe. Nope, I found shrimp in it. So I had to call one of the staff over, whose first statement to me was " I'm sorry, " but instead was " But some vegetarians eat shellfish. " Now, I am not on this vegan diet because I choose to be. I cannot digest animal protein. I tried to explain to this woman that vegetarians don't eat meat, period, and when I order something vegetarian, I shouldn't have to preface it with " Please don't put meat in here, I'm allergic. " I wound up getting the meal for free, but not after she ranted and raved for 15 minutes that I should've said to begin with when I ordered a vegetarian entry that I can't eat meat. (wtf???) Cut to second restaurant that week. Oven was broken so they couldn't at least give me a veggie pizza no cheese. So they get me a veggie taco salad no cheese. So guess what they put on top of it? Sour cream. I then have to send back the thing and explain no, I can't digest dairy. So they put on a salad dressing that has cheese in it instead. How do I know? Well, don't ask what happened to my body that night and the next day. -Andrea
Guest guest
Okay, I won't ask out loud any way, but what happened. <grinning> So sorry you had two bummer experiences in one week. You need to move to a vegetarian/vegan friendly place don't you think? But really, at least I am not allergic or have problems digesting those things, although I might now that I haven't had either in so long. That would be awful to be allergic and have to deal with restaurants where they frequently don't listen or don't understand. linda " Kyrene Ariadne (Andrea) " <kyrene > I only get annoyed with the labels and definitions when > it affects my ability to order food and not get sick. > I went into a Thai food place recently and under their > vegetarian menu I ordered a veggie curry.
