Pea Split Pea Soup

 

 

1 gallon water

2 cups split peas

2-3 large onions

5 carrots, sliced

6 stalks celery with tops sliced

1 large potato, diced

4 cups fresh or frozen peas

12 cloves garlic, minced

3 bay leaves

2 tsp. basil

2 tsp. oregano

2 tsp. thyme

1 tsp. black pepper

1 tsp. smoke flavoring

Bragg's or soy sauce to taste

1/2 cup ghee or olive oil

 

 

Use a 2 gallon pot. Fill halfway with water. Bring to boil and add

split peas and all other ingredients except for garlic, peas, soy

sauce and oil. Add these when other ingredients are cooked and then

simmer for 15 more minutes.
