Guest guest
Hi all, I have a question for those of you who receive your Feral Vegetarian list via regular email (Outlook Express, Eudora, etc.) rather than by reading it on the website or by having a mail client. We may have discussed this before, but things aren't getting any better for me. I have noticed for a long time that I'm not receiving all of the list posts from you all. Sometimes I don't even receive my own list post! For awhile, I thought that it was because I'd set my ISP's spam filter too high, so I set it to " none. " I still didn't receive all posts, a fact I confirmed when I went to the Feral website and checked the posts. I went to the help section to see if I could write and ask why this is. I couldn't find a way to do that, but I was directed to a new " service, " the " Mail Plus Service. " It said, Can I use Netscape, Eudora, or Outlook to send and read my Mail? Yes! Mail users can read their Mail messages in Netscape, Eudora, or Outlook by <http://us.rd./evt=8789/*http://mailplus.mail.>subscribing to the Mail Plus service. This service allows you to use Outlook, Eudora, or another POP3 client to access and manage your Mail and also includes the ability to: * Automatically forward your Mail to another email account -- even another address. * * Send messages up to 10MB in size * Send email without the promotional text at the bottom. Once you have d, you're ready to set up your Mail account to read your messages in an email program. Click " Mail Options, " choose " <http://popfwd.mail./pf/popfwd?.done=>POP Access & Forwarding, " and follow the directions. (and) only $19.99/year* less than $2/month! Remember, you can always visit the Mail web site whenever you like, even if you're receiving your messages using POP. It sounded to me like maybe would like us to pay $19.99 a year to make sure we get all of your email. That would be a little sneaky, and I'm hoping I'm wrong about that. But I can't figure out why else I wouldn't be getting all of my email. I get all of my email from my non- lists as well as my private correspondence, and a whole lot of spam too boot when I set my filter to " none. " So my questions are: Does anyone else experience this problem? Does anyone have any thoughts on how to remedy this or whom to contact? Has anybody paid their $19.99 yet? Thanks for any thoughts or help you might be able to give! Sherry in Oregon
Guest guest
i don't know... i don't have this problem because i get the group's messages in a digest, and i get all 25 messages at once. But i do notice i miss some if i sign up for individual message delivery or that the messages come to me in odd order and not chronological. So i do a bit of reading on list and digest reading. Wish i could be more help in answering your question. ~ pt ~ Playfully, you hid from me. All day I looked. Then I discovered I was you, and the celebration of that began. ~ Lalla ~~~*~~~*~~~> , Sherry Rose <sherry wrote: > So my questions are: > Does anyone else experience this problem? > Does anyone have any thoughts on how to remedy this or whom to contact? > Has anybody paid their $19.99 yet? > > Thanks for any thoughts or help you might be able to give! > > Sherry in Oregon
Guest guest
Thanks, PT! Well, you confirmed my suspicions that one might miss some messages if one signs up for individual messages. I love getting them throughout the day and not all at once, so I'm not doing digest currently for that reason, but I hate the thought of missing any of the Feral messages. If anyone has an email addy for help, would you mind posting it to me offlist? I'd really like to get to the bottom of this. Guest guest
Hi Sherry, I'd have to second what PT stated. From time to time (on individual emails) I'll receive messages out of order. I'll get the response before I'll receive the original message, however usually things are fine. I'm not sure if getting them through your email client will actually fix anything. I know that gmail does not charge for pop or forwarding. This is not a addy but an email form for you to submit a query or comment. http://add./fast/help/us/mail/cgi_feedback On 4/10/06, Sherry Rose <> wrote: > > Thanks, PT! Guest guest
Thanks so much for the URL! I'll pursue my problem that way. Guest guest
Hi Sherry I also receive individual messages in Outlook via Gmail to my Inbox as I like to download them onto my ppc and read them as and when I have the time or energy. Coming by such a roundabout route I am surprised that I receive as many as I do! I belong to quite a number of and they each seem to act up at different times. Feral has been ok for me for a wee while but at the moment on one of my UK groups messages can be anything up to a week late and I always receive replies before the original posts. Even though I post all my messages at the group site, they can take anything up to 48 hours to arrive in my Inbox. Sorry I have no solutions. I do not want to change to digest as only a certain number of the posts on each digest will be synched with my ppc so I would also miss out on posts that way. If you find any solutions I'd be very interested to hear them.
