Guest guest
Don't give up on me, Bron ( " to each his own " ). I actually struggle with whether or not to go vegan every day, but alas, these items (fermented dairy and egg whites) keep me lacto-ovo. I believe them to be healthy, though I also hear arguments to the contrary. So far, these latter have a rather emotional tone to them, which makes them less believable. I re-evaluate and keep up-to-date on the latest scientific evidence as best I can. Yes, soy does relatively well on the protein to calories ratio, but is not quite as impressive as the egg whites, and may not be a complete protein either, thus necessitating further calories to finish the amino acid profile (though I know the complementary proteins do not have to be eaten together). Anyway, these are my thoughts on this complicated (to me) issue. If I ever make the switch, y'all will be the first to know. Thanks, -Erin , <southernflower@g...> wrote: > > It's true that the soy yogurt is more expensive, and I haven't tried it > myself. Guest guest
I guess for me it wasn't an issue whatsoever once I viewed how the layer hen and the dairy cows were treated to bring to me those eggs and milk products. I couldn't sacrifice another's life for mine when it wasn't necessary for me to live and live well. Vegans aren't dropping dead anywhere from the lack of those two things and quite the contrary have a lower cholesterol than even vegetarians if that means anything. Protein isn't a problem. linda - cronzen I actually struggle with whether or not to go vegan every day, but alas, these items (fermented dairy and egg whites) keep me lacto-ovo.
