I have a bag of split peas - do you think that would work? Also do you have any recommendations for a dried version of ginger? Do they make it in a powder or anything besides the crystalized version? I have most of the ingredients and am looking to make it. You call it comfort food and it has very little fat that I can see which must be great. It seems that most " comfort food " is high in fat.
