Guest guest
Oh i couldn't agree with you more on that point, Donna. One cookbook that i love, 'simply heavenly', does this. i just skip those recipes or use something else, but it sure can be frustrating when recipes have three pages of reference to other recipes in order to be completed. i noticed 'native foods' does this and even the Crescent Dragonwagon cookbook, too.... but i won't part with any of them over it, i just muddle along and come up with my own creation in spite of that. *lol* ~ pt ~ We know that in all creation Only the human family Has strayed from the Sacred Way. ~ OJIBWA Prayer ~~*~~~*~~~> , " Donna " <thelilacflower wrote: > I don't like cookbooks that list the ingredients and then tell you to > add 1/2 cup of a sauce that's on page so and so and then to serve it > over a certain rice dish that's on another page. Guest guest
Holy Cat, yes the Simply Heavenly cookbook is the worst at this! I'd forgotten about that one. I really really like the idea of the cookbook but there is so much involved that it dissuades me from tackling it. It's like having a recipe within a recipe within a recipe. So by the time 3 hours have passed you've finally finished the internal recipes and now are finally at the point to tackle the science and wrestling project of the seitan and what not and you're ready to give up. And yet it is still one of the coolest books!
