Guest guest
Gosh- I guess in honor of the subject- do you have anything COLD- and ICY and non-dairy?? It's quite ironic that I got this one as I don't particularly like ice cream! I DO, however, LOVE italian ice, or slushy ice type drinks. I Just started freezing whole oranges and the slicing them up and eating them- YUM! I LOVE crushed ice.... LOVE LOVE LOVE it. We can buy a 5 kilo ( 11 lb) bag of ice in the summer and I can go through it in 3 or 4 days! I have an electric ice crusher by Sunbeam that I put it through and add whatever we have to drink to it- iced tea, juice, water, or my ABSOLUTE favourite of Pepsi! When I was young it got so the only way I could drink a glass of milk was to pour it over ice- so that it was soooo cold it barely tasted. Needless to say- I don't drink plain white milk by the glass at all as an adult. If I add chocolate and instant coffee I can drink it- but I only do that a few times a year. The only time I drink coffee too! lol So, Guru- whatever you would like to post is ok with me. Cold something or something for the crockpot.....I love my slow cooker, and am always on the look out for TnT recipes for that. Thanks for a fun question. Guest guest
Sharon, I didn't see your name on the post because you usually sign your name and I only look at the email address second. It's winter down there. What kinds of temps do you get ther in winter time? I know it gets pretty hot in summer. How about a recipe for ice cream substitute using rice or soy milk or do you mostly like Italian ice? I'll think this over and get one for you. I'll look in my files. Guest guest
Guru- I was in such a hurry to post my answer/guess- that i didn't sign it that time- I didn't even realise it until I saw your reply to my guess. LOL Sorry- I am usually good about remembering to sign what I write. The temps we get here in South Australia are relatively mild. Where I am- just below the capitol city of Adelaide- I am near the ocean ( about a 3 min drive there) so we tend to have very changeable weather ( the weather forecasts are almost ALWAYS wrong- it's better to just look out the window to know what the weather is going to be like!) - and never any snow. ( I love snow - I MISS SNOW!!!) But there are some higher places north of here that supposedly get snow on the mounts. They don't really have mountains- just high hills. We DID have frost once, maybe twice, this winter- but it is VERY light so it didn't affect the plants- it is mostly on car windows, that sort of thing. Our temps run from low 40's C (around 100 f to 104 f) as the highs in summer ( average I would say is probably low-mid 30's c....which is the 80's f, nights are in the mid-50's/ low 60's to mid 70's f ) to, in winter average of single digits C at night to usually high teens C ( 60's F) daytime. I really don't want to be a bother- so whatever recipe you wish to post is fine with me- I am sure someone will love whatever you send. I prefer things with that are not creamy if it is frozen...... slushy icy things are my weakness- but I am thankful for whatever you wish to share. Take care, Sharon in SA
