Guest guest
Chains use refrigerated trucks because they don't want to throw out their profits. Sometimes it comes in fresh but has a shorter " shelf life " then it normally has. We have one particular store that sells a lot of that. You know you'll have to use the produce within a day or two if you buy it there. But it is cheaper because of this. My sister goes there but I won't step foot in the place. I worked in a fruit & veggie store for years and learned about buying cheap wholesale. They'd buy the stuff all the other buyers turned down that was still on the broker's dock at the end of the day for a lot less then when it came in fresh in the morning. I'll bet that's why that one store always has crummy celery when every other store has nice stuff. , " Marilyn Daub " <mcdaub wrote: > > They come into a main store further away and then sent to the smaller stores > that they own, by just a truck!!!
