Guest guest
I know, not appetizing to a veggie person lol but from Wee's description I think it's the word they use for a mature zucchini. In the 1st Poirot story, he is retiring to the country to " grow the marrows " but fortunately a murder happens and he is able to " send the marrows to the devil. " Still I'd much rather have fried zucchini than fried marrow lol Peace, Diane , Donnalilacflower <thelilacflower wrote: > > What is a marrow, sounds like a bone joint, the word > creeps me out..LOL > Donna > > > > When I look out my window. Guest guest
A vegetable marrow is related to the courgette or zucchini but is much much bigger. The one I bought at the weekend is 12 inches long by 5 inches in diameter and is quite a small example. I think it would be called marrow squash over there. It's funny how offputting a name can be. I found myself automatically deleting recipes with eggplant in them because it sounds so rank, whereas aubergine sounds much more appetising to me, LOL.
