My husband, my pekinese and I are back from our vacation down to So

Calif. The weather was so bad that we didn't take the coastal route so

it was down the I 5 yet again.

I spent a couple of days in Palm Springs with my Mom and had the

opportunity to eat at " Native Foods " and OMG! it was fantastic!

Everything vegan! I had the vegan fish tacos and they were so darn

good. I also went to this great store. I think that it was

called " Natures RX " and it was fantastic too! I wish we had places

like that here.

Unfortunately, the day before we were to leave, my 82 year old Mom

took a fall in church and broke her leg (femur) and wrist. What a way

to end a vacation! I may be going down to Palm Springs to look after

her for a week or so when she is out of rehab. Then, within 15 mins of

pulling into the driveway at home, we got a call that my husband's

sister had had a stroke the day before :0( . DANG!

If you can believe it, the hospital already sent my SIL home

because they didn't have the room and she has a lot of family, so,

starting today, we are staying with her in shifts. We'll be there from

2:00 until 6 or 7 so I want to make dinner. Anyone know if there are

things besides salt that are restricted from a stroke victims diet?

Anybody have a good casserole? If I can't get one, I was thinking

maybe corn chowder and corn muffins. What do ya'll think?
