Guest guest
I make the point of asking--otherwise they feel bad that I can't eat, and I wind up starving. I see the hospitality thing as a two way street, and again, in the culture I was raised in I would be utterly embarrassed if people showed up and couldn't eat what I had to give them. I do not comprehend why would it be otherwise everywhere else. If it's a special " seafood dinner, " you always have the option of graciously turning them down, as you do not eat fish. But I'd rather that option than show up and not eat. It just makes an uncomfortable situation all around.
