Guest guest Posted August 4, 2006 Report Share Posted August 4, 2006 Aloo Bhaji Spicy Fried Potatoes 1 pound potatoes 3 tablespoons oil 1 teaspoon black mustard seeds 1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric 1 large onion finely sliced 1 fresh green chilies, deseeded and sliced 1 1/2 teaspoons salt 1/4 cup hot water 1 tablespoon lemon juice Boil potatoes in their skins until just tender. Peel and dice. Heat the oil in a sauce pan and fry the mustard seeds until they pop. Add the turmeric, sliced onions and chilies and fry until onions are soft and golden. Add the salt and water, bring to a boil, add potatoes,cover and cook until liquid is absorbed. Remove from heat. Sprinkle with lemon juice and stir well.
