Hi Deanna,

I've been trying to post a reply to this message via the " reply via web

post " choice, and for some reason cannot do that today or this

evening...it just hangs up and never opens.....so I selected the " reply

to group " choice....don't really know what the difference is, but guess

maybe I'll find out! LOL.

I made seitan just about a week ago from a link that I'm pretty sure I

got off of this list. And I think Amy was the one who made it and

provided pictures to go with it. I had never tasted seitan before I made

it, but I love it! Absolutely love it! Wonderful taste and texture! I

used my bread machine and my crockpot, and it couldn't have been easier!

Here's the link I got my recipe and directions from:

Your recipe that you found looks really good, too! I just was really

happy to have finally made this...and very impressed with how good it is.

You can pretty much put the taste you want it to have into the gluten

mix and the broth. I did use the pure gluten flour as that eliminates a

lot of the kneading and rinsing steps with regular flour.

And as far as how it sounds--I initially thought it was " Sate'-n " ....in

my mental Texas twang.... But now I think of it as say Tahn'....as in

" What kind of wine would you like to have served with your say-tahn,

Madame?

Has anyone in the group tried making Gluten? I found a recipe for it and

it looks easy. Deanna
