Guest guest Posted March 8, 2006 Report Share Posted March 8, 2006 " Chinese Style Okra " this is from my 'Healthy Asian Vegetarian Dishes " cookbook 30 whole pieces of okra, washed and drained Fresh basil or cilantro for garnish Dressing ~~~~~~ 6 cloves of garlic, finely minced 1 tsp. fresh ginger, grated 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. sugar 2 tsp. rice vinegar 1 tsp. soy sauce 2 Tblspns. sesame oil Bring large pot of water to boil and add okra. Return to a rapid boil, cover and reduce heat to low. Cook for 4 mins. or until okra turns a shiny dark green. Remove from heat, drain in a colander. To make dressing, place all ingredients , except oil in a small bowl. Slowly dribble in the sesame oil while continuously beating with a wire whisk or fork until dressing is well blended. Arrange okra on a serving platter, then pour dressing evenly over them.
