Guest guest
Hello, new to the group here and looking forward to lurking and learning from all of you! Decided to give up meat only recently (For various reasons) and am what I would consider Ovo-Lacto although since I don't eat eggs much (and have no problem using egg substitutes) I honestly think I could go Lacto with no problem but my question is this: Even if I cut out eggs completely, it seems there are SO many items that contain eggs in the recipe, would you not be getting eggs in restaurants without knowing? Could that really be considered " not " an egg eater? The other question is shrimp. I still eat shrimp….(As my last effort in giving up meat completely) and am under the impression that shell fish are still considered " meat " ? Finally, getting a lot of flack from various friends…not in the " vegetarian " part as much as being a runner (I run 20 to 30 miles per week) I have had people tell me there is NO WAY I will be able to get the amount of protein needed for a runner. Thanks in advance for your help and I look forward to hearing from you with any advice/or help. With Kindess, Boo
