Guest guest
Poll: Top Super Bowl snack now veggies ROSEMONT, Ill., Jan. 31 (UPI) -- What appears to be a first leading up to Super Bowl XL is that the most popular snacks millions will munch in front of television are now vegetables. The news came from market researchers, the NPD Group, who said vegetables were eaten at nearly 30 percent of all dinners on Super Bowl Sunday for the last five years, beating out potatoes, sandwiches, salads, salty snacks, and even the venerable pizza and chicken wings. NPD Vice President Harry Balzer said he knows traditionalists will challenge the findings but pointed out that not everyone attending a Super Bowl party this Sunday will be paying attention to the game in Detroit. He said crunchy vegetables got the poll boost " as part of the meal for people who don't watch, and as part of the party for people who do watch, " the Chicago Sun-Times reported. http://www.upi.com/NewsTrack/view.php?StoryID=20060131-012220-1466r
