Guest guest
Speaking of migraines...I don't recall if I mentioned it on here as I am careful about that sort of thing since I am not a doctor or health person at all, but I was getting frantic about dealing with mine as they had gotten so bad and lasted so long I just wanted to whack my head against a brick wall..it would have felt better. So did some research and discovered that the hospitals use IV infusions of Magnesium for people with severe migraines and many doctors are recommending people give magnesium vitamins a try. So I did and wow is all I can say. I got them every few weeks. What was recommended was to take 500 mg magnesium a day and kick it up to 1,500 if a migraine was coming on. Well, I did so. I have had one migraine in three months and the one I had last week may have been due to the fact that I had been forgetting to take the magnesium for about a week. I do know that when I have felt one coming on I take the 1,500 mg and it stops it in its track. I take it for about three days as that is how long my headaches usually last and they kind of seem to be hovering all of that time too. Coincidence? Maybe. Psychological? Maybe. But, no matter what the reasoning behind it I will take it and it is safe. You can take even more and still be safe. If I have already blithered on about this before forgive me for my excitement. Oh, yes, and a friend I mentioned it to tried it and it has worked for her and saves her the $10 a pill that she takes for said headaches...she hasn't had any since starting the magnesium. linda " Whatever you do will be insignificant and it is very important that you do it. " Mohandas Gandhi ~ PT ~ Isn't that quote great? No, i didn't choose it to be posted, it was just in my quote file [that isn't sorted in any particular order] and it was its turn to pop up. i am often amazed at the synchronicity of such happenings.... it really did fit the post topic well. Another funny synchronicity- moment happened in a post i made yesterday at Donna's veg group. i was replying to a guy about migraine cures and this quote popped up: When you've got pain, at least you know you're alive. ~ " Cat on a Hot Tin Roof " i swear i didn't choose that one either! *lol* i wonder what's next for today?
