Going ovo-lacto, and Thanksgiving meals

I am currently attempting to go ovo-lacto after being vegan for the

past nine months (I have IBS and what appears to be a potential dairy

allergy aggravating it further), and was wondering if anyone has run

into any issues with that I should be aware of.

Also, Thanksgiving is coming up, and it will be my first vegetarian

Thanksgiving with my parents the carnivores. They wouldn't know what

to do with a Torfurky if one came to life and bit them in the ass--and

frankly I wouldn't either. Suggestions on preparing a vegetarian

Thanksgiving meal would be GREATLY appreciated, and what brands of

things like stuffing to look for that aren't loaded with chicken fat

and all that crap.

Thanks muchly,

Andrea

I just say tomake all the fixins. Homemade mashed potatoes with gravy, candied

sweet potatoes, homemade stuffing rich with spices, corn, creamed broccoli, etc

etc.

Homeamde stuffing is easy. Just get some bread cubes and some hiho ritz or

townhouse crackers, like a sleeve of them, and saute some celery and an onion in

butter. add some spices, any will do, I add a touch of garlic powder, some sage,

rosemary and thyme. saute until tender, and pur over the bread and crackers, mix

is tup, and adda couple of eggs or egg replacer, an then some milk unti it is

moist to the way you like it. Bake for about a half hour or so depnding upon the

temperature your oven has to be for the other stuff that is in it.

:o)

hugs,

Chanda

Speaking of HiHo crackers...Does anyone know where they can be found? My mother

in law used to buy them and says they are the best crackers (better than Ritz)

and she has looked everywhere and just can't find them. Any help would be

appreciated.
