Guest guest
i am running short on time today, so thought i would reply to the posts from digest #1727 in one bulk message. The Spot in Hermosa Beach, 2. Chinese Vegge (vegan) in Torrance 3. The Green Temple in Redondo Beach. There are more but these 3 are awesome to say the least. The Green Temple is very hippie'ish with a water lily pond, hanging Indian scarves on the patio, Buddha's all around, temple bells, good music playing, no one rushes you out, food is out of this world good, and they will mix up herbal shooters to drink. " ~ Thanks so much for those suggestions, Donna. Since the LA Airport is such a common stop along trip routes, this is really valuable info for finding a good meal should any of us have an hour or more to kill between flights. Are they all close enough to the airport to walk to? *lol* Okay, okay, i know nobody walks in LA, *lol*, but if you can find some addresses and phone #s for these places that might help people direct their taxi cab drivers. Thanks! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In digest #1727 Chanda wrote: " the price increase with stamps is a hot topic in my home. [trimmed] personally, i was surprised it did not go up to 40 cents instead of 39. with that in mind, the unites states has one of the lowest prices in the world for postage, and they really do a good job of delivering the mail. the post office also cannot use other gov't money....they actually have to stay within the budget they have....not that they don't waste money....lololololol......... " ~ Well, the rate increase gets no complaint from me. And like you, i was also surprised it didn't just go up to 40¢. On a happy note, those 2¢ stamps are so pretty! i was commenting to a woman who was at the work table in the post office next to me that the lovely design takes the sting out of having to buy the extra stamps to mail my bills. [for those who may not have seen the ones i refer to, they have a Navajo squash blossom necklace on the stamp] ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In digest #1727 Amy said she listens to: " Great Big Sea - newfoundland celtic, very upbeat (well most of it) music and great to sing along to " ~ i love Celtic music and i've not heard of this group before. i will have to look them up. Thanks Amy. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In digest #1727 D'vorah asked: " OOH! OOH! Candles!!!! One of these days....do you make soy candles? How does it compare to making candles out of wax? " ~ Yes, i make a soy paraffin blend candle with hemp wicks. The straight soy wax was too soft to use by itself in my pillar molds. But i love the soy addition so much... makes a nice creamy candle that burns perfectly; the hemp wicks are a must, too. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In digest #1727 Heidi asked: " I have a general question for the group (is this ok to ask?): Who is the main cook in the household? " ~ That is a great question, and of course it is okay to ask. i would have to say that i am the main cook in this household. My 15 year old daughter likes to cook a meal for the family every now and then, and also loves to bake. i just wish she was more keen on the clean-up aspect. *lol* My 12 year old son will fry himself up hash brown potatoes, but other than that dislikes cooking anything that can't be easily popped in the microwave. i'm working on him though! ~ pt ~ The stars speak through the stones.
