However, several years ago, a vegan girlfriend and I were having lunch at a Mall and her lips got numb. She had/has an allergy to fish products. The vendors told us " no fish..... " I pressed on and then asked " Bonito? " Yup.... bonito flakes.... extremely common in miso soups. .....bummer..... ....and while having lunch at a Japanese restaurant this past weekend, I found out there were " eggs " in the tempura batter...
