Guest guest
Deanna, Welcome back. Sounds like you had a huge crop of Tomatoes come in. You sure were busy.. I had a friend several years ago that would dehydrate Tomatoes and make a powder out of them.. I don't know the exact porportions of water to powder she used, but she would make a tomato paste with that, when she need it. She added it to soups too. Just thought you might enjoy that tip... Of course you might already do this.... Oh Bread and Butter Pickles... Yummmmm.. Do you put Onions in yours too. My mom used to do that when we were kids and the sweet pickled onions, in the jar, were always sought after in our family... Judy genny_y2k Hello all ..I am just back from a few days on the ranch and it was such a wonderful time..We canned tomato sauce, dried bags and boxes of tomatoes in the dehydrator and made 'tomato leather " . I crushed some of the tomatoes to a fine powder and we will use it sprinkled on salad. We bought pickles today and will can Bread and Butter Picks next week.
