Guest guest
Hi Wee I have been unable to locate black beans in cans anywhere. I bought 500g bag of dried black turtle beans at Tesco in their new Wole Foods range. Haven't tried them yet. Sainsbury's sell cans of black- eyed beans at 3 cans for £1 - they should be on the same shelf as tinned chickpeas, green lentils etc. I have not seen them in Tesco. You might find them in a whole food shop, although I have not seen any. Guest guest
Thank you Marilyn - the problem is that Wee and I are in the UK and Kentucky is a wee bit far to come grocery shopping, LOL. Guest guest
Thank you, Meg. Finding tinned black-eyed peas (or beans as they wrongly label them) isn't a problem over here as they are available at one of the large supermarket chains, as I explained to Wee, although I've never seen any made by Heinz. Black beans are another matter. They are seldom eaten over here and I have only been able to find them dried in another large supermarket chain. Even the whole food shop doesn't sell them tinned. If Wee manages to find them in tins I shall be down to visit him, LOL. I would imagine it's hard to find any Americans in Orlando these days with all the British tourists. Guest guest
If it were possible I'd be there, Marilyn. However I suspect I'd need to put my apartment on the market to afford a ticket on the QE2 and then there would be the trek across country...
