I read an article that it was more due to dissatisfaction with the slower pace of the stores because they had strayed so far from coffee. It takes much longer to make a fruit smoothie in a blender than to pour coffee, and the wait is getting longer. i do like Starbuck's coffeee and agree all of the fruity stuff takes too long i'm sure they thought diversifying would help business, but they may lose hard core coffee people. That said, the one here still seems busy and they are opening a new one in a few weeks.
