It's certainly illegal to sell food in imperial measurements these

days. Love your very appropriate sig line, ~ pt ~. "

~ Illegal, really ? Wow, i didn't know that. Well, 35 fl.oz. is

better than 20 fl.oz. in matters of beer, so viva la metric! *lol*

i couldn't resist that great Ben Franklin quote... i heartily agree

with him there. Now go get your bad self to a pub and let us

Yanks know what's going on! ;)

I discovered that beer is the only thing still sold here in imperial

measurements. I guess the thinking behind that is that if they

changed it to litres people would drink as many litres as they used

to drink pints and the alcohol problem here would be even worse than

it already is. Also I guess we are pretty resistant to change. Road

distances are still in miles, although that was meant to have been

changed to kilometres years ago and despite the fact that 99% of all

other things measured are done in metric.

Oh good! Nice to know the pub pints are living on.

When you mentioned that about imperial measures

i wondered how they would get folks to change such a

time honored tradition as the pint! :)

There comes a time when the mind takes a higher plane of

knowledge but can never prove how it got there.  All great

discoveries have involved such a leap.  The important thing

is not to stop questioning.
