Guest guest
We have similar problems, and we have unvented bathrooms too. I cannot use any kind of bleach, it makes me vomit and gives my oldest child severe headaches. Get yourself a spray bottle and 1/2 ounce of tea tree oil (around $10 for the good stuff, you can buy cheaper stuff for $5 or 6 if you want since it's not going on your face). Fill the bottle with warm water 3/4 of the way, pour in the tea tree oil. Spray on mold and wipe as usual. The TTO is also very pungent, but in a more natural eucalyptus sort of way. You can start with 1/4 ounce and see how it works too. It will kill the mold but it won't remove the nasty black stain very well. I've found a dish scrubber & water with some soap is most effective at that, and then regrounting/recaulking as necessary. If you remove the mold and then keep up with this spray every other day it will prevent the mold from growing gain. meg linda wrote: > I know this is way off topic and so labeled. Could you spray daily with vinegar or alcohol? More a preventive than cure, I suppose, but it might work. Glad your sense of smell is coming back!
