Hi Linda,

Is al-keee-hall allowed? Hehe.

There are these refreshing drinks you can get at the coffee places (that

aren't coffee but probably still overpriced) called Italian sodas. They

have these flavored syrups. You take some ice and club soda and throw in a

couple of these flavor shots. The flavors vary - lot of 'em.

I think you can buy the syrups in the stores....oh I just realized you said,

" sugar-free " . You just have to be difficult don't you, Linda. :)

Sugarfree (so long as you don't mind Splenda).

Dang, I can't think of something with everyday items that isn't acidic or

contain sugar outside of my usual h2o.

I like fruit flavored water, add a little pureed frozen or fresh fruit,

however strong you want it. love fruit juice but commercial is so full of sugar

- yuck - don't need that.

This sounds like something good to try as I can flavor it only to the point

that I want. If I puree it won't there be pulp in it though? How would I

deal with that? Oh, I don't have one, but when one has those machines

called Vita-Mixers and you do the stuff in it is there pulp left? Ah, maybe

I could make ice cubes with it and as they melt it would continue to flavor

the water? Summer I was thinking about. Thanks for the suggestion Angela

yr welcome linda, before I got a juicer put the puree through a strainer. have

made peanut butter and fruit pulp sandwiches - yummm. sometimes I just leave it

in the water and eat it when the waters drunk, or spoon it out of the strainer

and eat it. the juicer separates the pulp and liquid much better and the pulp is

finer. for sure juice cubes in water works great, one of my favorite summer

drinks. don't know about the Vita-mixer and pulp, wish I did, have wanted one of

those machines for years!! as expensive as they are bet the pulp and liquid are

seperated tho. :>}

Um...water? Seriously now...

Seltzer mixed with pear juice? What about flavored seltzer?

What about a decaf herbal tea like mint or chamomile (the real stuff,

not the green tea flavored stuff).

This is the easiest one that I have seen so far. No work involved, just

pouring and totally controllable. I think I will give this a try today as it

really sounds no fail. Thanks everyone for the suggestions.

I think that's actually supposed to be one of their selling points;

the pulp being full of fiber/nutrition that a juicer would separate.

Don't think this is as much a problem these days as it once might have been.

There are plenty of 100% juice products on the market now with no added sugar.

If I happen upon some really sweet raspberries, I'll puree them and

press them through a sieve to remove the seeds... then put the puree

in a glass and top with bubbly water (you need lots of raspberries if

you're not going to use sugar, or you can add a pinch of stevia).

There are also some flavored bubbly waters out there that just have

flavoring, no sugar or alternatives, that are pretty tasty in a drink.

I have to admit though, 99% of the time I drink plain room temp.

water... and most of the rest of the time if I'm looking for something

different, I'll have bubbly water (watch the labels as some have

sodium or other things added - I like just water and carbonation

myself). I don't know if the carbonation would cause it to be too

acidic for you though.

Oh! Lassis are very cool and refreshing too - I'll sometimes get them

at Indian restaurants. Basically yogurt, milk, fruit blended, I think

(mango lassi is my favorite). I also use to get a virgin mango

daquiri at a Thai place in DC that was good, but I guess it would

probably have sugar added...but maybe you could adapt that and use

really sweet fruit (or fruit+banana?) and ice, crunched in a blender.

I've wanted one forever too. No luck yet. :-) But, no they don't

separate juice & pulp - their selling point is that the blades are so

fast and powerful that any pulp that would normally be left (including

seeds I think), is ground up really fine in the juice - so you get

juice and fiber, not just sugary juice.

PS lassis are not sweet-tasting,though there is a sweet version and a

salty version. (sweet being non-salty!) My attempts to recreate one

have used plain yogurt.
