Guest guest
Wow, 16 years old. My oldest, Alex, is about 9. He was a stray when I got him, but I think that is fairly close. How did Koko get feline urinary disease? Our baby, Anne Bonney, who showed up in the middle of Hurricane Ivan got sick when she was a kitten. No one could figure out what was wrong with her. We went through a number of diagnosis and was on various meds, and nothing seemed to help her out. She eventually outgrew it. She can't jump to this day, tho. I never tried the veggie diet for our " kids. " We get our food at Costco and they seem content, so I figure, why mess with it. I can't imagine trying to wash their mouthes out with soap. The way they get around water, you might lose an arm or something in the attempt. I say this because we gave ours a bath this week. Nothing like the smell of drowned cat. LOL!!! Guest guest
Ha ha, I hate how wet cats look!! They're all so dignified and independent before the bath, then you do the terrible deed and their pride goes down the drain along with the bathwater. Such an awful sight. Another absolutely horrible thing is a post-bath rat. I gave two of my rats a bath a couple of weeks ago, and they were so disgusted at me the whole day. That expression about the drowned rat- it's for a reason, they look pathetic. Even after I dried them off they stayed in their cage sulking, wouldn't even take treats from me... Horrible. On a serious note, I forgot who said something about their cat having urinary problems, but here's my two cents. Add water or milk or broth to the cat's dry food, every meal. It'll go bad faster, but dry food lacks the moisture it needs (which is why my dogs get very, very little kibble), and can cause some very nasty problems, especially in cats. Ever thought about BARF (Bones and Raw Food), or some other raw food diet? That's what my dogs eat at the moment, though tomorrow they begin their two-day fast before switching to vegan. Best thing in the world for a cat or ferret. You just don't see cats on BARF with urinary problems, or any other problems for that matter. My two cents, this is my one area of knowledge so I felt compelled. Kadee Sedtal Everyone is raving about the all-new Mail Beta.
