Guest guest
*Dear colleagues,* * It gives me pleasure to introduce Ms Ruchi Kohli, a non resident Indian living in the United States. Ms Kohli is an avid animal rights activist and has written two books, 'A Private View' and 'At Peace or in Pieces?', the royalties of which will be donated to the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine. Ms Kohli is coming to India in November this year and is interested in promoting her books. She is in search of an organization in India that would host her and organize a book signing or book release. Ms Kohli is associated with the Anti-fur society and believes in the dictum, " Live simply so that others may simply live. " I would be grateful if any individual or organization could assist her animal protection efforts in India. She works as an engineer in an environmental agency in Washington DC and has raised money for animal rights. Ms Kohli is interested in helping the cows of Kerala that are slaughtered. I am attaching a small note from her for anyone who might be interested to interact with her. She is also keen on tackling the proposal of sending dogs from India to Korea for consumption. Her books are sensitively written and beautifully illustrated and I see no reason why they should not capture the public imagination in India. She deserves all the help we can offer. * * Best wishes and kind regards,* * * * Yours sincerely,* * * * * * * * * * * *To whom it may concern, I would like to host a book signing with all proceeds from the sales of my books going to India's animal organizations that are promoting compassion, peace, and unconditional love. Through calm and collected thoughts, one's behaviour affects others. There is nothing that the power of love can't conquer. It takes time but the results are everlasting. My intentions are to bring about an awareness of the silence of our victims and through the power of our mind and heart, we can together manifest the reality we envision as our world. This process starts with you to finally arrive at Us. ** ** Namaste! Ruchi Kohli*** * * *aprivateview* * * *Ruchi Kohli was born in New Delhi, India, and moved to the United States of America at the age of nine. She took an interest in writing poetry as a means to bring about an awareness of the nature of things that take place in everyday life. She is the youngest of three daughters. Her hobbies include singing, going to the health club, reading, dancing, playing tennis, and watching movies. Her interests include politics, social justice toward all humans and animals, and advancement in modern medicine. She has committed to authoring this book—and all her proceeds from sales of this book are being donated to the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine.* * * * ** " A Private View :A collection of poems and illustrations that invoke one's imagination to draw our own lines of thought. Our mind is like a canvas that holds colors of thought painted by experience and emotion. These vivid arrays of feelings are expressed by words and pictures to shape our reality. The design of our art in its play with size, shapes, style, tone, and intensity is challenged by space and time. Its creativity is defined from the boundaries established through conditioning whether traditional or cultural beliefs which develop into our frame of reference. " * * * * * *Prayer* *Thank you for the peace you gave me today.* *The bread I eat you made for me.* *The home I reside with comfort and care.* *The eyes that can see beauty that's real.* *The effort I keep to do no harm.* *In thought, word and deed, with silence I speak.* *The family you gave to support this life.* *The air I breathe till I go home.* *Oh spirit, do hear what my heart can tell.* *For words can't capture my gratitude too well.*
