Animals give us so much - loyal companionship, productivity in work

situations and insights into the beauty and mystery of nature. That's why it's

so hard to fathom how animal cruelty could be so shockingly prevalent - both in

the U.S. and the rest of the world.

 

Support a world where animal welfare matters, and animal cruelty ends >>

 

All animals should be able to live their lives free from misery. But

instead they struggle in a world that is often indifferent.

 

For example, the illegal and inhumane trade in wildlife and wildlife parts

is a soaring black market worth $10 billion a year. An estimated 80 percent of

the world's cats and dogs are unwanted and suffer from hunger, disease, neglect

and persecution as pests. And, though seldom considered, animals are also

affected to an enormous degree by disasters, both natural and human-caused.

 

This global problem requires a global solution. Take Action!

a.. Recognize animals as sentient beings, capable of suffering and

b.. Recognize that animal welfare is an issue of importance as a part of

the social development of nations.

c.. Act as a catalyst for better animal welfare provisions worldwide.
