A tusker, which was severely injured in the accident, has managed to go back to the forest. A four-month old baby elephant, which escaped with very minor injuries has been rescued by forest officials and is being taken to the Nandankanan Zoo near Bhubaneswar. The train ran into a wild herd as it was crossing the railway line. Local people have blamed rampant mining and industrial activity along the elephant habitat for the tragedy. -- Fight captive Jumbo abuse, end Elephant Polo http://www.stopelephantpolo.com
